From acceptance by Pegasus Publishers to its Publication Day

Everything is new to me. I feel like a child setting out on an exciting adventure.

21st April 2023 This is the day I submitted my manuscript to Pegasus Publishing and was told it could be up to twelve weeks before I heard back from them.

6^th June 2023 A most exciting day. Six weeks after submitting my novel I opened my emails, to find a letter from the Pegasus Commissioning Editor to say that Heartbreak Baby had been accepted for publication and offering me a contract

10^th June 2023 I have now signed the contract and “Heartbreak Baby” will be on the bookstalls sometime next year!

9^th October 2023 Today I received the proofed and tracked manuscript for me to review. I will need to read the entire novel to approve or reject their suggestions and make my own adjustments to the text.

26^th October 2023 I have been giving a lot of thought to the ending of my novel and wished it had a different conclusion. I wrote to my editor, to see if it was too late to change it and she replied that it wasn’t. So I am going to rewrite the final chapter and I think my readers will be delighted as it now ends of a note of hopeful possibilities!

3^rd November 2023 Just finished the re-write and have sent it off to my editor. It was more difficult than I thought it would be, as I found I had to tweak several parts of the novel early on, so that the continuity of the storyline fitted in with the new ending. Hope they like it as I think it is a far better end to the novel, and will be a more satisfying conclusion for my readers.

16^th November 2023 Exciting day. I had just finished the complete review of my manuscript and was about to email it to my editor, when she sent me the ideas their design team had for the cover and there is one I really love. I want a slight adjustment, but as soon as I approve it with the publishers I will post it here

Now I must try to be patient and wait for the publication date, which will be sometime in the New Year 2024.
